A 2007 new seedlings photo of a cream to light yellow mini hulthemia seedling. This
seedling appears clean to
powdery mildew. Typical of many of these you can see that the blotch is being cleared at the base of the petals
by a competing rose gene that seems dominant to the hulthemia blotch gene that otherwise behaves as a dominant
trait.
Below is another photo taken in spring 2008 that shows the
blotch a bit more defined in the more mature plant.
As the seedling turned out to be fertile as a seed parent, it was used
immediately in breeding.
