This is a new seedling for 2004, from a cross of 'Fairhope' X 'Baby
Love'. It certainly does not have the
excellent form of 'Fairhope', but it does have something else. Most
'Fairhope' seedlings are very
prone to powdery mildew, but when crossed with 'Baby Love', good to excellent
resistance is
the rule. This seedling is extremely resistant to powdery mildew and sets
hips very easily (notice the tagged
hips that are forming). Also, though it only has 5 petals, it drops its
sepals early and holds its petals up. Hopefully,
this rose will be a good bridge to producing very clean exhibition minis.
